David C. Nolan, PT, DPT, MS, OCS, CSCS
David is the Clinical Manager at Bay State Physical Therapy in Boston, MA. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy from Northeastern University in 1997 and completed his Master of Science degree with an Orthopedic Specialization and Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professionals in 2007. His research has focused on the balance abilities of adolescent athletes and the impact that this performance has on injury prevention. During his graduate studies, he was awarded the Barbara Adams Fellow Award for his leadership and dedication to the profession.
David is a board certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist through the American Physical Therapy Association and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
Currently, he is an adjunct professor at Northeastern University in the Department of Physical Therapy as well as a Graduate Lecturer in the School of Professional and Continuing Studies in the transitional Doctor of Physical Therapy Program at Northeastern University. David is a member of the faculty for the continuing education seminar "When the Feet Hit the Ground Everything Changes" with the American Physical Rehabilitation Network and has lectured nationally on functional biomechanics, gait and lower quarter dysfunction. In 2004, he was the recipient of the "Excellence in Clinical Teaching" award from the New England Consortium of Academic Coordinators of Clinical Education.
David's areas of expertise include manual therapy, spinal dysfunction, sports medicine and orthopedics. He evaluates and treats patients with a wide range of musculoskeletal diagnoses and utilizes video gait analysis to assist in biomechanical evaluation and patient education. He has worked extensively with patients with amputations, collegiate athletes, elite runners and professional dancers. David is dedicated to providing exceptional care and utilizes a hands-on approach with all of his patients. By incorporating a biomechanical approach to dysfunction and providing thorough patient education, he is able to help his patients achieve their goals and optimal functional outcomes.
Darryl Elliott, PT, OC Darryl Elliott is a physical therapist and partner at Bay State Physical Therapy in Weymouth, Boston, and Scituate. He graduated from Northeastern University with a BS in Physical Therapy in 1990. He has practiced in out patient orthopedics over the past 20 years as well as teaching at Northeastern and Boston University. Darryl now enjoys incorporating his clinical expertise and passion for teaching to mentor his staff in order to provide the best possible physical therapy experience for each patient.
Darryl is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) since 1991, and Rotary International since 2002. He is the President of the Northeastern Physical Therapy Alumni Association. Other areas of interest include: Golf, skiing, basketball, cooking, and coaching his 2 young active sons in many sports such as hockey, basketball, soccer, and baseball.
Allison DeChristoforo, PT, DPT
Allison is a staff physical therapist at the Boston clinic. She graduated from Northeastern University Summa Cum Laude in 2009 receiving her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. During her years at Northeastern Allison was involved as a student member of the American Physical Therapy Association and attended various federal government affairs conferences in Washington D.C. to advocate for laws that effect physical therapists and their patients. She utilizes a patient-centered approach to rehabilitation to help her patients achieve all of their goals.
Lindsay Nogash
Lindsay is the Office Manager at Bay State Physical Therapy in Boston, MA. Her passion for competitive swimming lead her to compete at Seton Hall University while earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Sports Management. Lindsay comes to us from the fitness industry where she managed a health club for two years. During that time she became a certified personal trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine with specialties in corrective exercise and neuromuscular stretching.
Amanda Shirah, DPT Amanda is a staff physical therapist at the Boston clinic. She graduated from The University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio in 2009 receiving her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. While attending UTHSCSA, Amanda was an active student member of the American Physical Therapy Association and attended APTA House of Delegates. She was also actively involved in research focusing on low back pain. Amanda enjoys working in the outpatient orthopedic setting where she combines manual therapy, functional training, therapeutic exercise, and activity modification in order to restore function and mobility of her patients.
