PT, DPT
Location: Bay State Physical Therapy – Cambridge – Porter Square, MA
April R., PT, DPT, has a passion for human health, community service, applied science, and fresh air. She earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy from Tufts University School of Medicine, after discovering how critical individual mobility is to personal and community health. Her clinical experiences range from outpatient orthopedic to inpatient acute care. Professional experiences in diverse communities have taught her many lessons about how to collaborate, include, and empower people to move toward holistic well-being.
Before entering PT, April served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Guatemala, an AmeriCorps Volunteer in the Tongass National Forest, and a public employee in the Alaska Division of Public Health and the Alaska Department of Fish and Game. She worked as a cold-water scientific diver, published peer-reviewed research, and coached with Juneau Rollergirls, a nonprofit sports league affiliated with the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA). April is dedicated to helping patients reach their goals and heal through movement. In free time she enjoys volunteering, collecting house plants, crafting, reading graphic novels, running, making music, and spending time with her family and friends.
