Justine H., PT, DPT, PCES is the Managing Partner of Bay State Physical Therapy – South End in Boston. She began her career with Bay State in 2015 and has enjoyed working with each patient to reach their fullest potential. Aside from achieving pain-free mobility, Justine works with each individual to ensure that they feel empowered throughout their rehabilitation process. She does this by providing education that helps each patient to understand why they may experience certain symptoms, and what they can do to reach their individual goals.

While she enjoys working with all individuals regardless of their specific limitations, Justine prides herself on working with folks of all genders who experience symptoms that may be related to pelvic floor dysfunction. It is imperative that each person feels safe throughout their treatment, and Justine continuously fosters a patient-therapist relationship based on trust and communication.

She is a certified Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist and has completed all levels of the Herman and Wallace Pelvic Floor Provider Series (Level 1, Level 2A, Level 2B, and Capstone) and enjoys being a Teaching Assistant for Level 1 courses. She is the chair of our Pelvic Floor Special Interest Group, and continues to mentor students and new graduates who are interested in this specialty.

Symptoms that may be treated with pelvic floor physical therapy include dyspareunia (pain with intercourse), urinary frequency and/or urgency, incontinence, bowel dysfunction, post-void dribbling, and pelvic pain.  She is particularly passionate about working with folks with endometriosis-related symptoms, and is well versed in the management of post-op care. Justine also specializes in working with men in their post-operative prostatectomy recovery to reduce urinary incontinence and pelvic dysfunction.

In addition to providing pelvic floor physical therapy, she also provides a variety of other services such as manual therapy, Graston Technique, Level 1 and Level 2 Dry Needlingcupping, and individualized therapeutic exercise to promote return to pain-free prior level of function for all orthopedic conditions.

Justine played soccer throughout her collegiate career at Simmons University and continues to play in local leagues. She enjoys running half and full marathons and completed the New York City, Boston and Chicago Marathons. She lives with her wife in Somerville, MA and enjoys finding new restaurants, traveling, and skiing every winter in Stowe, VT.
