Mike H. is passionate about helping people who are suffering from pain or lack of mobility. He looks at each patient as a unique individual who requires their very own individualized approach to treatment. Helping individuals heal by figuring out what works best for their body, while factoring in personal obstacles or limitations, is a gratifying challenge.

As a teenager and young adult, Mike was a standout athlete who was encouraged by one of his mentors to consider a career path as a physical therapist. Mike felt it would be a great option for him as it coincided with his enthusiasm for fitness. Once he looked into it further, he instantly fell in love with the profession.

Mike had received his Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy at the University of New England and his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Simmons University. Mike began his career as a practicing physical therapist in 1986. In 2003, after decades of hard work and dedication he opened his own outpatient private practice that he successfully ran alongside his wife before entering into a partnership with the team at Bay State Physical Therapy in the fall of 2024.

Mike specializes in advanced manual therapy, with a personal interest in treating patients diagnosed with connective tissue disorders such as Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS). He once even treated a kangaroo with spinal issues! Patients deserve to have their feelings and concerns truly taken into consideration when working with a physical therapist, or any other medical professional. Mike makes it a priority to listen to his patients and validate their perspective.

Mike is a family man who cherishes time he gets to spend with his loved ones, especially his children and grandchildren. Mike’s personal interests include working out and cheering for his beloved New England sports teams.
