Mouhamed S.
PTA
Location: Bay State Physical Therapy – Franklin, MA
Mouhamed S., PTA, graduated from New England Institute of Technology in Rhode Island where he earned an Associate’s degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant. Prior to attending college, he served in the US Army and during that time, started to think of ways that he might further his education, and pondered where he would like my career path to go. Mouhamed decided to further his education in pursuit of his degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
Throughout his educational journey, Mouhamed has been blessed to encounter many great people, including his classmates, who encouraged him to strive for greatness, to his professors and clinical instructors who helped foster his love for physical therapy. During his education, Mouhamed faced challenges such as trying to manage my academic and social life while also having to find new study techniques to help him conquer challenging classes. As he reflects on his academic pursuits, he is proud of what he has accomplished to obtain this position.
Mouhamed’s clinical placements opened his eyes to different care and treatment styles that he will use as he continues to develop as a Physical Therapist Assistant. The time spent in the Veterans Administration outpatient facility really helped expose him to different diagnoses ranging from spinal cord injuries to amputations. That is one clinical experience that he will never forget and is glad that they honored him with the opportunity to be the first ever student Physical Therapist Assistant accepted.
As Mouhamed considers the way he wants to be thought of and the legacy that he leaves for the future, it is one where he can genuinely say that he has forged a new path for future graduates to come. He would like to think that while he was in classes in college and while learning during his clinicals, he has had a positive impact on his peers and patients. Mouhamed wants to be regarded as a person who always strived to better the lives of others. He is glad he followed this path and will continue to strive for greatness.
