Louis C., PT is the Managing Partner of Bay State Physical Therapy – 885 Main Street in Tewksbury. This location was formerly known as Tewksbury Physical Therapy, of which he was the founder. Louis is also the Managing Partner of Bay State Physical Therapy – Chelmsford (Jean Avenue). He graduated in 1982 with a degree in Physical Therapy from UMass Lowell. Prior to starting his private practice, Louis worked at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital. While there he treated traumatic brain injury and pediatric patients and also worked in their outpatient orthopedic center and pain management program. Louis remains an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). He has lectured nationally for the Private Practice Section of the APTA.
Louis states, “My goal with all of my patients is to stay actively involved in all aspects of their care. I achieve this by providing hands-on, skilled therapeutic techniques, appropriate restorative exercises, and ongoing education at each visit. I not only want to see you recover, but also gain a sound understanding of your condition, along with having the tools necessary to self-manage once your therapy is completed. I enjoy working with surgical and non-surgical orthopedic patients, spine conditions, neurological patients, including MS and stroke rehab, pediatrics, and infantile torticollis patients.”
Louis considers on-going professional education a necessity, as health care practices and procedures are continually evolving. He has attended numerous courses in orthopedic surgical and non-surgical rehabilitation principles. Locally, he serves on two advisory boards at UMass Lowell: Zuckerberg College of Health Sciences and the School of Physical Therapy and Kinesiology. He is also the current President of the New England Physical Therapy Network.
Outside of the clinic he enjoys spending time with his family and friends and gardening. He stays physically fit through outdoor activities throughout every season.
