Location: Bay State Physical Therapy – Franklin, MA

Janeen is the Clinic Manager at Bay State Physical Therapy – Franklin in the YMCA. She is a graduate of Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy Degree. She attained her Bachelor of Science Degree in Exercise Physiology with a minor in Adapted Physical Activity from Slippery Rock University as well.

She had decided in seventh grade she wanted to be a physical therapist. Experience with physical therapy at a young age for her ankle and working in a hospital as an aide in high school contributed to her desire to become a physical therapist herself. Before going to physical therapy school, she continued to work at the hospital throughout her undergraduate studies and then worked as an aide for 19 offices as a floating rehab tech in the Pittsburgh area.

At Slippery Rock University, she played collegiate soccer and ice hockey. After graduation, Janeen was a traveling physical therapist, taking three-month assignments, traveling all over the country for four years. She has since settled in Massachusetts and has worked at various outpatient PT clinics in the area. She also has experience in skilled nursing facilities.

Janeen has expertise in manual therapy, strength and conditioning, and is certified in dry needling. She has extensive experience with non-operative and post-operative orthopedics. She specializes in treating myofascial pain, sports injuries, surgical recovery, and developmental delays. Janeen’s special interests include sports, orthopedics, and pediatrics. She approaches care with an open mind, listening to her patients’ stories, assessing their needs, and then devising a plan to help them recover and achieve optimal outcomes. Janeen and her patients get to know each other and help each other to make the best gains possible. She helps educate patients that most of the work is done at home and that she is here to fill their toolbox to help them reach their goals!
